Day Seven: Tuesday, May 15th
That morning, we left Paris on a bus and stopped in Kortrijk, Belgium. We visited the flax museum and learned more about Belgium's history. We saw this beautiful cathedral and stopped at a cute ice cream shop, where I got Belgian waffles. I loved Kortrijk. After Kortrijk, we got back on the bus to Bruge and arrived in the late afternoon. The first thing we did was walk around, and it was so quiet and beautiful. We looked at shops we would stop at tomorrow, since most were closed by the time we got there. To end the night, we had a great dinner at Jiles Beer & Burgers.
Day Eight: Wednesday, May 16th
The first thing we did on day two of Bruge was go to the lace museum. We saw all kinds of intricate handmade lace. We even tried lace making ourselves (although it hardly resembled Belgian lace)! Then we went into a beautiful cathedral and had lunch in the square, where there were a bunch of food trucks set up. After lunch, we went shopping and enjoyed the city. We, of course, went to Belgian chocolate shops. There were so many cute stores in the area. Our next stop was the North Sea. We took a train and walked out to the coast. It was a cloudy afternoon and was so incredibly windy! The crazy weather made the experience memorable. Afterwards, we headed back into Bruge and got dinner at a little restaurant near the square. Bruge was so beautiful and I had a great time there.
